Our company is a pioneer company in the energy sector with a total investment of 1737 MW in natural gas, renewable energy and petroleum. The company started its activities in the energy sector in 1994, focusing on wind and hydro projects and developed projects with its inhouse measurement and analysis teams.

Hacılar HEPP in Darende-Malatya is the first licensed private sector hydroelectric powerplant investment and taken under commercial operation in 2003 with the installed capacity of 14 MW. Similarly, Bandırma WEPP in Balıkesir with the installed capacity of 30 MW, is the first licensed private sector wind powerplant investment in Turkey and taken under commercial operation in 2006. Bilgin Energy is also the first company in Turkey that acquired carbon reduction emission certificate with its renewable investments.

With 370 MW wind energy, 477 MW hydro powerplant investments Bilgin Energy contributed a total of 847 MW renewable installed capacity to Turkish economy producing 3 billion kWh energy from local and renewable resources.

Samsun Combined Cycle Natural Gas Power Plant with the installed capacity of 890 MW is one of the most efficient and low emission natural gas power plant in Turkey, is acquired by Bilgin Energy in 2018. Bilgin Samsun Combined Cycle Natural Gas Power Plant has a capacity of producing around 7 billion kWh energy with its advanced technology.

Having a portfolio composed of mainly renewable powerplants and a combined cycle natural gas power plant, Bilgin Energy has a potential of supplying 3.5% of Turkish electricity consumption with its 1737 MW environment friendly powerplants.

Apart from current local and renewable power plants portfolio, Bilgin Energy started investments in oil and natural gas business in 2013. As of 2016, Bilgin Energy began to focus on its activities in this sector by acquiring shares of Genel Energy, which is based in London and is traded on the London Stock Exchange. Currently, 20% shares of Genel Energy is owned by Bilgin Energy.
